2025 Pokerstars WCOOP
Anyone interested in a shot at turning $1 into more than a million? At the 2025 Pokerstars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), players can do just that. Starting on Sept. 3rd, the 8th annual WCOOP will begin, with 45 events and over $40 million in guaranteed prize pools.
The WCOOP is similar to the FTOPS series at Full Tilt Poker, with one exception. Full Tilt runs the FTOPS series every few months, while the WCOOP is only once a year. So, the WCOOP not only has a larger prize pool, but more prestige as well. If you want to call yourself one of the best online poker players, the WCOOP is the best way to prove it.
27 or the events have direct buy-ins in the $109-$320 range. The remaining events have direct buy-ins that range from $530 – $10,300, with one exception. Event #27 is the $25,500 NL Hold'em High Rollers event. If you don't have the $25,500 laying around, qualify by playing in one of the WCOOP Satellites. (Add link to this call to action)
The games begin with a $215 buy-in, $1,250,000 guaranteed NL Hold'em tournament. This is a 6-max tournament with satellites running now. With 13 more events than the 2025 WCOOP, the 2025 series has a more expansive game selection. For 2025 there will be a wider variety of non-Hold'em events, including 2-7 single draw, 2-7 triple draw, Badugi, Razz, and plenty of mixed game events. In fact, this is the most well-rounded online poker series in history, with 22 non- NL Hold'em tournaments. In the remaining NL Hold'em events, there's a nice mixture of tournament structures.
There are a total of 14 events with guaranteed prize pools of $1 million or more. With 2-3 tournament events running every day, this is 18 straight days of opportunity. The final tournament of the series will start on Sept. 20th when the $10 million guaranteed Main Event takes place. The Main Event has a $5200 direct buy-in, but satellite tournaments start for as little as $1. The WCOOP Main Event is the largest tournament online, and the top 2 finishers last year made over $1 million each!
There are hundreds, if not thousands of satellite tournaments for each WCOOP event. Many satellites start for as little as $1.00 or 100 Frequent Player Points (FPP's). Players can choose from single table Steps satellites, multi-table satellites, or FPP satellite tournaments as well.

Mixed Poker Games For New Players
H.O.R.S.E poker and other mixed poker games have been growing in popularity in recent years. One of the most prestigious poker tournaments is the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E event at the WSOP. Mixed games seems to be limited to the major U.S. poker rooms but I would imagine that the top international rooms will be adding these variants due to the success rooms like Pokerstars have had by creating their own mixes like 8-Game Poker. Playing in a mixed game format enables poker players to pit combined skill at two or more card games against another player’s combined skill at those particular games.
For instance, if you consider yourself a strong Texas Holdem and Omaha player a game like Full Tilt Poker’s H.A. poker would be a great match. This game combines pot limit Texas Holdem and pot limit Omaha. Some mixed games consist of only one game but mix up the betting formats. A good example would be Holdem Mixed which rotates between fixed limit Holdem and no limit Holdem.
How do mixed poker games work?
Each poker room has a predetermined structure for mixed poker games. H.O.R.S.E poker for example consists of Holdem, Omaha H/L, Razz, Stud & Stud H/L. This will be the same regardless of which room you are playing at. The only real variable is the number of games in each rotation. Some rooms will play 10 hands a game before moving to the next game and others will play 8.
Which mixed poker game is best for me?
When choosing a mixed poker game to play it is best to look at your strengths and weaknesses as a poker player. You don’t have to be an expert at all 5 games to be a successful H.O.R.S.E player. I consider myself a horrible Razz player but I do pretty well at H.O.R.S.E poker. I just tend to play ultra-tight during the Razz rotation. If there is a game or even a betting structure (ie: fixed limit, pot limit) in the mixed poker variant you are interested it is always best to play that game at the play money or micro-stakes tables to gain experience. I’ve read countless strategy articles on Razz poker so I’ve gotten a lot better but even before that I still did well overall because Razz is only 1/5th of H.O.R.S.E poker. You just have to win more money during your “strong” games than you lose when you are playing your “weak games”.
7 Card Stud Guide
Seven card stud has been a popular poker game both offline and at online poker rooms for a very long time. Many stud poker players can be found at the internet’s top rooms but most small – medium sized rooms struggle to keep 1-2 active tables running around the clock. If you are a stud poker fan you will have probably signed up at a couple rooms only to find out that their stud tables are empty. This guide will cover the best poker rooms for 7 card stud and some basic strategy concepts . First lets take a look at where the 7 card stud action can be found.
Where to play 7 card stud online?
Stud players tend to eventually migrate from the small/medium rooms to the largest rooms. There are two online poker rooms that have done a good job at attracting stud poker players: Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker. Pokerstars boasts around 25% more stud players than Full Tilt Poker so if you are looking for the room with the most 7 card stud traffic they would be a good choice. Full Tilt Poker isn’t the 2nd most popular poker room for nothing though so you may want to take a look at each room before settling down somewhere. Both of these rooms offer players a wide range of 7 card stud ring table action, sitngo’s and tournaments.
Strategy for 7 card stud
Successful 7 card stud strategy can not be set in stone because it will vary from table to table. I will share a few basic strategies and concepts that will help you avoid costly mistakes but in the end it is up to you to develop your own strategy for the various situations you come across. The most important tactic is called “hand selection” and is pretty self exclamatory. In Stud you want to fold garbage hands and play premium hands. Below is a list of some of the commonly played starting hands in 7 card stud:
•Pairs
•Three to a flush
•Three to a straight
Those are the main 3 card starting hands you will be looking for in 7 card stud. Three of a kind is obviously the best starting hand but it is somewhat rare. When you get a starting hand like the ones mentioned above the first thing you want to do is to look at the other players’ “upcards”. You should look at their cards for cards you need to make and/or improve your own hand. This will help you better understand the odds of you catching this hand or that hand. For instance if you have two pair (K’s & 7’s) and the player next to you has a King and a seven in their upcards the odds of you hitting your full house have been cut in half. Using this information to help you make better decisions at the poker table will greatly improve your chances of becoming a winning seven card stud player.
Full Tilt Poker Refer Five Friends Cash Bonus
It’s Full Tilt Poker’s fifth birthday this March and Full Tilt has come up with a variety of different great promotions to thank players for choosing to play their online poker at Full Tilt Poker. Among the Full Tilt promotions for their "FIVE" celebration is one of my favorite – Refer 5 friends for $275. Existing Full Tilt Poker players can invite their friends to play to earn an extra $275 free money bonus. This $275 bonus given out by Full Tilt Poker is on top of the regular Refer-A-Friend reward program which can total up to $575. This brings the grand total of the bonus you can earn by referring 5 friends up to $850.
For the Best Full Tilt Referral Code, use Code RG600 for a huge 100% Bonus!
In order to receive the $275 special FIVE promotion bonus from Full Tilt Poker you must send five players who open a Full Tilt Poker account between March 8th and March 19th. All five friends must earn 5 Full Tilt Points within 60 days to receive the $275 bonus on top of the regular refer-a-friend bonus money. Full Tilt Points are awarded to players when they play real money games at Full Tilt (5 Full Tilt Points won’t be hard to earn).
The awesome thing is that you can receive the Refer 5 Friends for $275 bonus multiple times. If you were to refer ten friends to Full Tilt you would be eligible for another $275, making a total of $1700 in bonuses that you could earn. Although it will be really hard to do, referring 15 friends would allow you to earn $2550 in bonus money from Full Tilt Poker. So get started and ask all of your friends to sign up for a Full Tilt Poker account! Full details on how the refer-a-friend program works can be found on the Full Tilt website and Full Tilt software lobby.
Other promotions in the Full Tilt Poker FIVE promotions include a 5x Happy Hour for Full Tilt Points, Birthday Money Sunday which is added guaranteed prize money to the big Sunday tournaments, $5k guaranteed prize pool every hour, and the 5x Bust-Out Bounty tournament where it pays to knock out Full Tilt team members.
Full Tilt Poker continuously shows why they are one of the best online poker rooms with promotions such as this. Ensure the friends you refer to Full Tilt Poker are receiving poker rakeback to take advantage of more free money. Good Luck on your quest to find 5 or more friends to play at Full Tilt!
