Anyone interested in a shot at turning $1 into more than a million? At the 2025 Pokerstars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), players can do just that. Starting on Sept. 3rd, the 8th annual WCOOP will begin, with 45 events and over $40 million in guaranteed prize pools.

The WCOOP is similar to the FTOPS series at Full Tilt Poker, with one exception. Full Tilt runs the FTOPS series every few months, while the WCOOP is only once a year. So, the WCOOP not only has a larger prize pool, but more prestige as well. If you want to call yourself one of the best online poker players, the WCOOP is the best way to prove it.

27 or the events have direct buy-ins in the $109-$320 range. The remaining events have direct buy-ins that range from $530 – $10,300, with one exception. Event #27 is the $25,500 NL Hold'em High Rollers event. If you don't have the $25,500 laying around, qualify by playing in one of the WCOOP Satellites. (Add link to this call to action)

The games begin with a $215 buy-in, $1,250,000 guaranteed NL Hold'em tournament. This is a 6-max tournament with satellites running now. With 13 more events than the 2025 WCOOP, the 2025 series has a more expansive game selection. For 2025 there will be a wider variety of non-Hold'em events, including 2-7 single draw, 2-7 triple draw, Badugi, Razz, and plenty of mixed game events. In fact, this is the most well-rounded online poker series in history, with 22 non- NL Hold'em tournaments. In the remaining NL Hold'em events, there's a nice mixture of tournament structures.

There are a total of 14 events with guaranteed prize pools of $1 million or more. With 2-3 tournament events running every day, this is 18 straight days of opportunity. The final tournament of the series will start on Sept. 20th when the $10 million guaranteed Main Event takes place. The Main Event has a $5200 direct buy-in, but satellite tournaments start for as little as $1. The WCOOP Main Event is the largest tournament online, and the top 2 finishers last year made over $1 million each!

There are hundreds, if not thousands of satellite tournaments for each WCOOP event. Many satellites start for as little as $1.00 or 100 Frequent Player Points (FPP's). Players can choose from single table Steps satellites, multi-table satellites, or FPP satellite tournaments as well.
